OnTop is a part of the Burlington School District serving students in 6th to 12th grades. Students are considered/accepted through a referral process that begins at the students' home(currently registered) school guidance office. If you are interested in learing more about this process or to inquire if this program may be right for your student, please contact your students guidance office.
... for Ontop students is that they will be safe, respectful and productive members of society. We will empower our students to overcome behavioral and social obstacles to help them reach their personal potential, academically and socially, within school, the work force and the community
...experience classroom groups that serve 6 to 8 students and work with two staff members per group. Our classes are small so that learning can be individualized. Each student at OnTop also has an 'advocate' who works with them on school goals. The student advocate communicates with parents (as well as others who may be involved in the students educational well being) and provides feedback and updates on how things are going at school. The advocate is one of the many people the student can talk with about problems encountered in school and is someone they can rely on to help look at these problems and explore what can be done about them.
